A noise from somewhere both far and close
reversed in my head like a bell in slow mo
drowning in its lingering hold, its pervading spin
turned around and then recollected on one tone, submerged in
wildly we are faint and uninterrupted with the scene
as the morning shades, the city's movement is heard in a disruptive flash
a movement so abrupt, so bold, so grand
that felt like navigating the ocean
wandering blind for calm
finding sense and comfort in the expanding dark
a carefree dark that unfolds and binds
whatever you were running away from
is no longer a shadow but a gifting presence
at the same time, everything you ever needed.
