I saw a pileated woodpecker at Shelley Lake yesterday. It is the largest wood-pecker in North America, the size of a crow. Woody Woodpecker was based on this bird. I was so lost in excititement at seeing it, it was lovely to have a mentalvacation from the stress, anxiety, and dismay at what is  going on in the world right now
