Picture this: It’s the last breath of summer. The light, golden and drowsy, spills through maple and oak leaves like liquid through a sieve. Around you, a new, electric, once-in-a-lifetime poetic community is forming, shifting, becoming. You’re here. You’re part of it.

Sounds like a dream? We think so, too.

We get it—the world is loud. Deadlines, notifications, rent, doom scrolling, subway delays, existential dread. It’s enough to make anyone want to pull a Thoreau, slip into the trees, and disappear. But instead of solitude, what if you found a village? Instead of silence, a chorus? Enter Poetry Camp—PSNY’s summer camp for poets, writers, and creatives of all kinds, a retreat where craft, community, and wild imagination take center stage.

This isn’t just a writing retreat. It’s a life-affirming, community-building, creative-practice-deepening, fully-immersive, earth-shaking experience. For four days and five nights, campers will step outside of time and into a world built for poetry—where workshops unfold under the sky, generative sessions

spark at picnic tables, and campfire readings stretch long into the night. Here, the act of writing is as natural as breathing, and sharing your words is as effortless as laughter.

Poetry Camp is for anyone who longs to unplug, rewild their creativity, and connect—truly connect—with others and the land. Whether you’re a seasoned poet or someone who just wants to see what happens when you put pen to paper, you’ll find space to play, experiment, and grow. Unlike traditional writing retreats, which focus on achievement, output, and solitary practice, Poetry Camp is about letting poetry live in your body, in your voice, in the rustling trees and the people you meet.

Each day at camp is a balance of guided and self-directed experiences. Mornings begin with yoga to shake off sleep and ground you in the day. Then, it’s off to small-group workshops and intensive workshopping sessions where you’ll receive thoughtful feedback and generate new work. Afternoons feature headliner-led seminars, where you’ll learn from iconic poets like Chen Chen, Stephanie Berger, and Jackie Braje. Evenings are for campfire readings, open mics, and unscripted moments of magic. Need a break? There’s lake time. Foraging walks. Wildcrafting. Meditative free-writing sessions. A swimming pond, a sauna, a hot tub, and the kind of conversations that last forever.

And because we believe poetry should be accessible, Poetry Camp has accommodations for every kind of camper. Bring your own tent and sleep beneath the stars, or book a geodesic dome, an Airstream trailer, a cozy bungalow, or a cottage with a clawfoot tub. No matter where you stay, all campers will share meals, stories, and space in a welcoming, creativity-fueled environment.

In keeping with PSNY’s commitment to financial accessibility, admission starts at $450 for Work-Study, $675 for General Admission, and $875 for VIP. All levels of admission include three meals per day (dietary restrictions accommodated), access to all workshops, seminars, and group activities, and an unforgettable weekend of creativity and camaraderie. And yes, payment plans are available!

So, are you ready to rewild your writing? Your community? Your summer? Poetry Camp is waiting. Secure your spot today at https://poetrysocietyny.org/poetry-camp — spaces are limited!
