WINE POETIC

Exploring the poetics of language, taste, and place.

ORIGINS

WINE POETIC is a GNOSES concept developed in partnership with The Poetry Society of New York. The series was co-created in the summer of 2023 by writer, producer, and sommelier, Darby Mae Wagner, of GNOSES and poet, educator, and Chief Creative Officer of PSNY, Jackie Braje.

AS A WORKSHOP SERIES

WINE POETIC is a collective experiment in verse and libation—an integrative symposium that artfully pairs the work of iconic poets with heritage wines, spirits, and other culturally-rooted beverages and delicacies from their shared homelands.

Gatherings are designed as sensorial symposia: intimate environments for conversation and interpretation centered on poetry and embodied aesthetics. Each event offers a refined, immersive experience that blends literary exploration with curated tastings, evoking a deep sense of place, history, and artistry.

In 2026, to celebrate three years of Wine Poetic, PSNY and GNOSES are excited to launch Wine Poetic Private Experiences as well as a host of community-oriented workshops in collaboration with aligned cultural and beverage partners.

  • This year also marks Wine Poetic's entrance into two new markets: upstate NY and Los Angeles. If you’re a brand, producer, or operate a space in one of these areas and are interested in collaborating, please contact Wine Poetic Executive Producer, Darby Wagner, at gnoses.studio@gmail.com.

  • For private event inquiries, please contact PSNY's Director of Client Services & Sales, Fiona Makris: fiona@poetrysocietyny.org and CC: gnoses.studio@gmail.com and jackie@poetrysocietyny.org.
